Remember In The Dark

About this game

A young boy has a mysterious illness. He only can remember a certain amount of information before he forgets his oldest memory. This is a huge problem for him, for he only remembers how to do a few things at a time. The boy must relearn how to do things from time to time. Help the boy find out the truth behind his illness while also navigating through the troubles of his memory loss. Use the memories that you need when you need them.

Remember In The Dark is a puzzle game made in GGJ 2020 with Japanese students from Kyoto Computer Institute remotely.

Post-jam Improvements

I later improved and polished the game after the jam, by adding more QoL features, level design changes, and visual improvements. First of all, in the previous version, the memory UI took too much screen space, so I reduced its size and added a feature that allows the player to click and view the whole image. Secondly, I redesigned the level by reducing level backtracking and improving its flow. Moreover, in the previous version of the game, the hints to some of the puzzles were too subtle for players to notice. To counter them, I added more visual hints and guidance to make the puzzles more intuitive and playable. Finally, I improved the overall visual by adding post-processing effects and an item panel.
